Jaw Pain (TMJ/TMD)

Your temporomandibular joint (TMJ), or jaw, is like any joint in your body. Pain in your jaw can be a result of muscle tightness, joint stiffness, hypermobility, etc. just like any other joint. Approximately 16% of the population will suffer from some kind of jaw pain, but only 5% will seek medical attention.

You wouldn’t think twice about seeing a PT for your shoulder pain, so why hesitate if you have jaw pain?

Jaw pain, also called temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD), can be a source of headaches, neck pain, and dizziness.  It can limit your ability to eat, and even make you want to talk less. It is common to have clicking in the jaw, but it is not normal for pain in your jaw to limit your activities of daily living.

At Lifestrength Physical Therapy, we are committed to helping our patients with TMD get out of pain and return to the activities they love.

Jaw Pain Does Not Need to Stop You From Doing What You Love
